As LED Face Masks are the talk of most beauty salons these days, we couldn’t let this brand new, exciting launch from Silk’n pass us by.
The Silk’n LED EMS Mask is the first of its kind on the market, combining LED therapy with Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to sculpt, tone, and rejuvenate the skin. This pioneering technology bridges the gap between traditional LED treatments and high-tech facial toning, setting a new standard in non-invasive skincare.

A panel was held in London recently with Dr. Selma Van Asselt – Cosmetic Formulator, Skin Therapist, and Silk’n Skin Technician. Many key insights were taken from the discussion with Dr. Selma Van Asselt. One of which stated that the global LED Face Mask market was recently valued at $265 million, and by 2030, it’s expected to more than double to $656 million. This surge is fuelled by creative innovation, social media influence, and a growing demand for high-tech beauty solutions that actually work.
Furthermore, Boots, the UKs’ leading health and beauty retailer, has seen demand for LED soar by 536%, with Silk’n emerging as their best-selling brand.
The LED Face Mask

Silk’n’s new LED EMS Face Mask uses AI technologies to allow the mask to adapt based on the condition of your skin, ensuring that each session is perfectly tailored to you. It isn’t another one-size-fits-all solution; but a smart, personalised treatment. It delivers both light and key compounds to support deep skin healing, offering a holistic skincare approach.
EMS is known for stimulating the muscles, helping to strengthen them and improve the overall tone and structure of the face. Equally, EMS tightens the attachments between the skin and muscles, which helps prevent sagging and the formation of jowls.
When LED and EMS combine, they enhance microcirculation in the skin and underlying muscles. This is key for ensuring the skin gets the oxygen and nutrients it needs for optimal regeneration. The more oxygenated and nourished the cells are, the better they can repair themselves and produce the building blocks of healthy, youthful skin.
Silk’n LED Face Mask Targeting

Specifically aimed at the 25-40 age group, who might not have noticeable signs of aging yet, the LED Face Mask can help benefit preventative care. Using this mask regularly can help prevent muscle atrophy, minimize wrinkles, and maintain healthy skin long before sagging or wrinkles become a concern.
In addition, adults over 40 may be starting to experience sagging skin, loss of volume, and a decrease in skin elasticity. Therefore, if you’re in this age bracket and are looking to lift and firm the skin, reduce fine lines, and restore your skin’s natural contour, this mask is perfect for you.
Made for home use, to deliver professional-grade results, it is a lightweight mask that works across every layer of your skin. Simply use for just 10 minutes a session. For optimal results, Silk’n recommends using it two to three times a week during a treatment series. Once you’ve achieved your desired results, you can switch to one to two times per week for simple maintenance.

Our Review
I tried the Silk’n LED Face Mask 100 (please note, I didn’t try the LED EMS Face Mask) over a two-week period, and it is starting to make a slight difference to my skin. As it states above ‘adults over 40 may be starting to experience sagging skin, loss of volume, and a decrease in skin elasticity‘, and this is the case for me. I am 49 years old, and it’s the decrease in skin elasticity that I am personally struggling with. Therefore, I have found that the red LED and the yellow LED are the best for my skin. The red is improving my circulation, and the yellow is hydrating and soothing.
There is also blue and purple LED colours in the LED Face Mask 100. The blue LED reduces acne related redness and imperfections. The purple LED is anti-ageing and improves the skins vitality and radiance.
One thing I have noticed almost immediately is that the LED Mask opened my pores, and as a result caused a few black heads to break out and spots. I’m really happy with this as they are all now cleared up and my skin is actually starting to look and feel better. So, I’m keeping on with my thrice weekly Silk’n LED Mask sessions at home to see how things progress over a few months. I’m loving the results so far, long may this continue!
The Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask is available now from Silk’n, LOOKFANTASTIC, Beauty Bay, Boots and soon to be on Cult Beauty. Priced at £299. The Silk’n LED Face Mask 100 is priced at £160.
